Chapter 3 SJC

Shen Jinnian’s post quickly blew up.

Even though he specifically stated that he wasn’t a pervert, saying that only made it feel even more like a guilty conscience.

A lot of omegas flooded into the post, cursing his behavior. Some were even terrified that their school had such a creepy Alpha!

Shen Jinnian was deeply wounded by the word "creepy."

He casually made up an excuse, saying that he needed the residual pheromones for chemical research related to his graduation thesis and hoped that everyone could help him.

His words were extremely sincere, and at the end, he even attached a little cat bowing emoji.

This made many omegas lower their guard a little. Thinking it was just for fun, they sent their old clothes to the designated location.

In just two days, he had received more than thirty pieces of clothing. Shen Jinnian was so overwhelmed that he hired a nanny—not only to take care of the child but also to help him collect the packages. The living room was packed to the brim.

Shen Jinnian carried the still-drowsy little brat out of the bedroom.

He pointed at the pile of clothes in front of them.

The kid looked confused: “Wuwa.”

Shen Jinnian: “Smell them. Which one belongs to your dad?”

The little one clung tightly to Shen Jinnian’s sleeve, refusing to let go. He wiggled his butt and burrowed into Shen Jinnian’s arms, as if the pile of clothes in front of him were some kind of terrifying monster.

Shen Jinnian grabbed the kid by the back of his collar and lifted him up.

“I went through all this trouble to help you find your dad. Don’t just sit here playing dumb and slacking off.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the little brat was mercilessly tossed into the pile of clothes.

Having been suddenly manhandled by Shen Jinnian and surrounded by so many unfamiliar pheromones, the fragile sense of security the little baby had painstakingly built was instantly shattered.

A wave of overwhelming grievance surged up in his tiny heart. His little mouth quivered, and his big, round, pretty eyes instantly welled up with tears.

He spread his arms and cried while reaching out for a hug: “Wua~ PaPa~”

Shen Jinnian had no choice but to squat down and pull the little brat out.

“No pheromone you like?”

“Muwa…” The little one buried his chubby face in Shen Jinnian’s chest, rubbed all his tears onto the boy’s four-figure designer shirt, and clung to his arm, taking deep breaths as he inhaled Shen Jinnian’s pheromones.

It was obvious that this little brat wasn’t sensitive to those unfamiliar pheromones.

But he was still addicted to him.

Shen Jinnian pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration and slowly released some pheromones to wrap around the baby.

The kid immediately smiled and kicked his chubby legs happily: "awaa~"

Shen Jinnian pinched the baby’s cheek. “What kind of garbage genes could produce a brat like you, born to stick like glue?”

After the nanny finished mixing the milk formula, she immediately took the kid from Shen Jinnian's arms. “Mr. Shen, the formula at home is almost out. The weather hasn’t been great these past few days, so we should stock up on baby wipes and diapers too.”

Shen Jinnian glanced at the wall clock and checked the time. “Alright, I’ll go buy them now.”

“Take an umbrella. The weather in June changes in an instant.”

Shen Jinnian waved a hand. “The sun’s still out. The forecast said it’ll rain tomorrow.”

The nanny had only made a suggestion. Since the employer had his own ideas, she didn’t push further.

After speaking, Shen Jinnian grabbed his keys and left.

He rented an apartment near the university, but surprisingly, there wasn’t a baby store nearby. He had to take a cab and circle around for three to five kilometers before he found a big shopping mall.

As soon as he got out of the car, a familiar figure flashed through his sight.

“Shen Jinnian.”

He followed the voice and turned to look over his shoulder and immediately spotted Gu Yan pushing a shared bicycle.

Before he could say anything, the other party beat him to it. “What are you doing here?”

Shen Jinnian crossed his arms and looked Gu Yan up and down. “Your family owns this place? Only you’re allowed to come?”

“I’m making deliveries,” Gu Yan said as he completed his order. Then he shifted his gaze back to Shen Jinnian. “What about you?”

“I…” He looked down at the half step he had already taken into the baby store. It was impossible to lie and say he was just passing by. Shen Jinnian coughed twice. “I picked up a puppy and came to buy formula.”

Gu Yan:“Small animals need special goat milk formula. You’re probably in the wrong place.”

Once again, Shen Jinnian was lectured. His mood soured instantly, and he clicked his tongue. “Why do you care what formula I buy? It’s not like I’m feeding your kid.”

So nosy.

He cares too much.

Gu Yan didn’t say anything and simply followed Shen Jinnian inside to settle his order.

After receiving his pay, he saw that Shen Jinnian was actually standing in front of the formula shelf, deep in thought.

Gu Yan quickly walked over and asked, “How many months old is the puppy?”

Shen Jinnian, lost in his own world, didn’t realize Gu Yan was right behind him. His mouth moved faster than his brain. “The doctor said he’s already six months old.”

Gu Yan pointed to the middle shelf. “Then he can have Stage 2 formula.”

Shen Jinnian swiftly grabbed several cans and tossed them into the cart.

Then, as if suddenly realizing something, he turned around warily. Gu Yan was still behind him, having even given him buying advice like it was second nature.

Shen Jinnian subconsciously panicked: “You, you, you… don’t get the wrong idea! I’m really buying this for a dog!”

Gu Yan ignored him. “Does the puppy need diapers? Are you buying them or not?”

Shen Jinnian answered without hesitation. “Buying.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, he followed Gu Yan to the diaper aisle and picked the most comfortable and expensive brand to throw into the cart.

They eventually wandered into the clothing section. Shen Jinnian was so captivated by the tiny, pastel-colored outfits that he couldn’t move. He could already picture his little clingy brat wearing them—how ridiculously cute would that be?

The shop assistant saw a pair of handsome young men looking at baby clothes and walked up to them enthusiastically: “Gentlemen, are you shopping for your baby’s summer wardrobe? We just stocked some new arrivals today. You can come in and take a look!”

Shen Jinnian got goosebumps all over his body when he heard this: “He and I are not together.”

The shop assistant looked at Gu Yan in surprise.

Gu Yan gave a polite but faint smile. It looked especially bitter.

She got it! She totally got it!

Newlywed couples quarreling, right? She has seen it a lot!

She immediately changed her tone. “That’s alright! If you like anything, come take a look. We have clothes for babies from 0 to 12 months.”

As she spoke, she didn’t give them a chance to leave and followed up with another question, “How old is your baby now?”

Gu Yan answered a step faster than Shen Jinnian. “Six months.”

Shen Jinnian silently glared at him and mouthed, Are you insane?

Who told him to answer first? Now, no matter how he explained, he wouldn’t be able to clear things up.

Giving up completely, Shen Jinnian followed the shop assistant into the showroom.

Gu Yan was about to step in too, but Shen Jinnian pointed a finger right at his nose and stopped him at the entrance. “You. Stay out.”

Gu Yan awkwardly retracted his foot.

The shop assistant covered her mouth and giggled. “You two have such a good relationship.”

Shen Jinnian was so startled that his soul nearly left his body. “No, no way.”

From the first moment they met, they had been at each other’s throats, completely incompatible—like ice and fire. If they could, they’d probably jump on each other’s heads and take a dump.

It was really hard to accept such unwarranted praise with a clear conscience.
